Lives in Annandale and has two children. Scott attends Ursinus College outside of Philadelphia, having been recruited to play lacrosse on their nationally ranked team. He is studying Applied Economics with a minor in Finance. Howard's daughter Courtney graduated from Goucher College in 3 1/2 years with a double major in Business and Psychology. She is currently employed by a privately held consulting firm.

Coached youth sports (Annandale Youth Lacrosse) for 6 years and currently coaches Woodson HS varsity lacrosse during the off-season.

Active in his synagogue, Congregation Olam Tikvah in Fairfax, VA, where he serves on The Board of The Olam Tikvah Men’s Club as Vice President.

Hobbies include: volunteer work/giving back to the community, following The Washington Redskins, The Nationals, The Capitals and The Wizards, playing tennis and enjoying all forms of music.
